During a visit in South Africa, our member @val_moser visited the Black-footed Cat project led by Alexander Sliwa in Benfontein Nature Reserve. These visits are very helpful for us - we can learn a lot for our own projects researching small wild cat ecology and conservation.
To do this research on Black-footed Cats in South Africa, a dedicated team collecting experience over many years is key. Only patience brings insights into such elusive species.
And what a great species it is! The way they move shows that these cats need to be elusive to survive in this harsh environment.
